What Is Screen Printing?

Screen printing is a centuries-old reproduction technique in which ink is transferred onto a surface through a mesh screen.

During the process, the logo or design is applied to the screen using a light-sensitive coating, after which the selected colors are pushed through the screen onto the material using water-based or solvent-based inks.

The key advantage of this technology is its ability to produce durable, sharp-edged, and vibrant prints — not only on textiles, but also on paper, plastic, and even metal.

Fast, Reliable, at Any Scale

Whether it’s a small batch or a production run of several thousand units, screen printing remains an efficient and predictable solution. Once the screen is prepared, production can begin within just a few hours, allowing us to meet even exceptionally short deadlines. For most product types, screen printing becomes cost-effective from quantities as low as 50–100 pieces.

Direct vs. Transfer Screen Printing

Direct screen printing

The ink layers are applied directly into the material, resulting in a more durable and wear-resistant print. It is ideal for flat surfaces such as T-shirts and sweatshirts. On dark textiles, it is not recommended without a light underbase, as the original fabric color may show through.

Screen transfer printing

In this process, the ink is first applied to a silicone-based transfer paper, then permanently bonded to the material using a heat press. It can be applied to virtually any surface, making it ideal for items such as caps, backpacks, and mugs. It is also perfectly suitable for dark materials.
